The older and younger Edda is a collection of stories from our past and our future. It tells of Ragnarok, of the Asir, Vanir and Jotun, and all of the other beings in Asatru. In these Eddas, you will find beloved and familiar tales such as Gylvaginning in which Gylvi learns about the Asir and Vanir, the story of Thor's journey to Utgard, and the time Thor had to dress as Freya to deceive Trym, who had stolen his hammer, Mjolnir. Here you will also find Havamal, which was the most challenging yet rewarding part to translate. I never found a translation of the Eddas that were quite good enough, so I decided to undertake that task myself. It was one of the most demanding yet rewarding things that I have ever done. My hope is that everyone who read these Eddas will learns as much as possible about our cherished Norse faith, the Asir, Vanir and the heroes who came before us.
I was born in the deep south of Norway, where my faith, my knowledge of the Asir and Vanir, are all but illegal. I have been Asatru since i was five years old. And my faith, my religion, my Asatru, grows stronger every day. I hope to build a Hov here in Lyngdal one day. Where we can all gather and give Blot to the Asir, Vanir, Vettir and our ancestors.
