It always starts with you: How your mindset, goals, and self-awareness shape everything that follows. This chapter focuses on your personal journey, helping you define what truly matters to you and set goals aligned with your values. You will use tools such as the Goals Action Plan and Mental Plan to build clarity, resilience, and a strong foundation for your leadership.

You are always communicating: The power of behavior, presence, and small actions in creating trust and connection. In this chapter, we explore how your nonverbal cues, tone, and adaptability shape the way others perceive and respond to you. You will also be introduced to the DISC framework as one of several tools to help you understand behavioral styles, both your own and those of the people around you. This chapter is about awareness in communication, whether through DISC, active listening, or the way you show up in everyday interactions.
These chapters lay the groundwork for the six layers of The Nordic Leadership Spiral, a framework built on a simple but powerful idea:

Culture is created through behavior. Behavior shapes energy. Energy drives performance.

When you become aware of your impact, culture begins to move. And when culture moves, results follow.

Patrick Sackner Christensen

Patrick Sackner Christensen is a leadership advisor, keynote speaker, and founder of Sackner Group. He works with leaders and organizations globally, with a particular focus on the Nordic region, helping translate culture and behavior into sustainable performance.

His work is grounded in positive psychology, leadership communication, and high-performance practice. Patrick holds an Executive MBA, a Masters degree in Professional Communication, and a postgraduate certificate in Psychology of Kindness and Wellbeing at Work. He has further education in leadership, coaching, pedagogy, psychology, and performance development through both executive business education and elite sport environments, including the Danish Sports Confederation.

With more than 20 years of experience advising leaders, organizations, and elite athletes, Patrick focuses on clarity, trust, energy, and consistent behavior as the foundation for stronger cultures, happier people, and better results.
