The Child of Goodness

Visby, the year 1450, a child is born to a mother who already hates her.

Sigrids mother Helvi rules her life. Every word, every movement and every sound is scrutinised behind a façade of piety. Every action has consequences, and Sigrid lives her life in fear of what could set her mother off.
The night Sigrid drives away the Devil, Helvi views her daughter in a new light. Surely, she is the Child of Goodness. But Sigrid knows her mother does not have the measure of the stranger, or of her.
The encounter puts events in motion that could have disastrous repercussions, and Sigrids loyalties are put to the ultimate test.
When true love comes calling, will it answer Sigrids prayers or merely deepen her dilemma? It could be a way out of her mothers clutches, but is it enough? Can she appear to please everyone while truly pleasing herself? And, if there is a way, will the stranger be her saviour or lead her straight to hell?
When true freedom beckons, can anything keep her on the righteous path?
