Seven Stories of Belonging

In Seven Stories of Belonging, Harald Innbjør invites the reader to reflect on what it means to belong. Each story follows one person and their struggle. For some, it is the struggle to be accepted in the community they were born into. Others search for a new community, or resist a belonging that is forced upon them.

The stories move from the fire circle of a Late Stone Age tribe, via the peace negotiations in Westphalia and an interrogation room in the Inquisition's Granada, to a classroom, a home, a camp and a psychiatric hospital in present-day Norway.

Through historical and contemporary lives, across continents and millennia, the book asks the same question: What happens when our need to belong is not met - or is used against us?
