Discover the female powers of Norse mythology through stories and paintings.

Freyja, Frigg, Idun and Skadi are familiar figures in Norse mythology. Other goddesses and female beings appear only fleetingly in a name, a poem or a few lines.

In this illustrated book, Linda Abrahamsson brings their stories together with her own paintings. Here are love and sorrow, healing and battle, the life of the earth and the depths of the sea. Norns, valkyries and seeresses also find their place in the Norse world of myth.

The texts distinguish between older sources, later interpretations and artistic imagination. The paintings bring colour and personality to both the familiar and the enigmatic figures.

A book for readers who want to discover the female powers of Norse mythology and folklore through words and images.
